Overview

The Hindusthan Group is an Indian conglomerate with more than 7 decades of glorious heritage. The Group has a Pan-India presence including Kolkata with business interests in diversified high-growth verticals like Engineering, Chemicals, Electricity, Agriculture, Renewable Energy, and Education. HEIL is the flagship company of the Hindusthan group specialising in Rolling Stock, Railway Track Materials, Gas-based chemicals, and Jute products. Our ISO-accredited steel foundry is the largest in India’s private sector with dedicated research and development divisions bolstering our finesse. We supply critical components to the Ministry of Railways and global markets, continually modernizing to integrate the latest technologies.

HEIL has made rapid growth in the last seven decades and has emerged as multi-product multi location Company in India. We are a diversified product company in Rolling Stock, Railway Track Materials, Gas-based chemicals and Jute products.

We are one of the largest manufacturers of Freight Wagons in India. Our prime customer is Indian Railways. But we have been supplying to Private parties and also to overseas customers. Some of our major customers other than Indian Railways are, NTPC, Defence, Vedanta, Adani Group, DP World ,Bangladesh Railways, Tanzania Railway Corporation etc.

We are also one of the largest manufacturers of Bogies, Side Frames, Bolsters, Couplers, Draft Gears and other components for Rolling Stock in India. We have exported these items to South Korea, Australia and North America. We are the first company in India to develop anode yokes for supply to Aluminium Smelters all over the world including Iceland.

In this era of constant innovation, we have a continuous modernization program for our plants to be abreast with state-of-the-art technology. Our vision encompasses an ongoing search for newer products, opportunities & markets across the globe. 1947- The Beginning

Points and crossings plant originally established at Tiljala

1984

Became the first company in India to indigenously manufacture CMS crossings, a significant technological advancement in the rail industry.

1990

Honoured with the first award for outstanding performance in exports, recognizing our contributions to the industry and the economy.

1995

Introduced Thick Web Switches with Indian Railways, an innovation that significantly improved the durability and safety of rail switches.

1998

Launched Height Container Flat wagons under the World Bank project for Concor, Ministry of Railways.

2012

First in India to achieve certification for all four designs of Improved Switch Expansion Joints, setting a new standard in railway safety and efficiency.

2013

Received the largest export order of wagons in company history from Tanzania, reinforcing global presence in the wagon market.

2016

Secured a prestigious international contract from Middle Eastern countries for the supply of canted turnouts with head-hardened Rail and EDH weldable CMS crossing.
